I went to the theaters not sure what to expect, but from the first moments the screen filled with images of the first X-Men movie, to the final credits... this movie pushed the enevelop on the possibility of making a Smart hero movie, and giving the fans of the franchise enough to drool over, that you'll need to wear your rain boots to cover the pool o' drool on the floor in the theater.
Marvel produced Iron Man, and Thor, and Hulk ... but this movie surpasses all in not dumbing down the genre, but elevating the story and characters to new found heights. Seriously, it's that good. Fox has done a great job, and the people at Marvel and DC who are trying to keep their franchises 'in studio' need to take notes. Ok, the Dark Knight still beats this movie, but really .. this is well done.
Grab that popcorn and drink, sit down and enjoy the ride. I did, and nothing would make me happier than to take another trip on this track.
Also, to burst some people's bubble, and it was my only disappointment when I watched this movie... there is NOTHING after the credits. No special scenes or anything. Just an fyi.
